DIAMONDJACKS’ BOSSIER EXECUTIVE CHEF PLACED 2ND IN SOUTHERN GAMING MAGAZINE’S 2011 CASINO COOKOFF!

(Bossier City, LA)- September 28, 2011- After competiting against fifteen Gulf Coast area chefs and placing in the top four, DiamondJacks’ own Chef Gunter Kilian received the opportunity to compete on September 24 in the annual Southern Gaming Magazine’s 2011 Casino Cook-off in Biloxi, Mississippi where he took home the second place prize!

Bossier City Chef Gunter Kilian Southern Gaming Magazine’s 28th Annual Chefs of the Coast Weekend presented by Four Roses Bourbon welcomed culinary connoisseurs all of the country. The event showcased the talents of the top four chefs: Chef Chris Poplin from IP Casino Resort & Spa, Chef Abel Vergara from Seminole Casino at Coconut Creek, Chef Glen Chapman of Casino Aztar, and DiamondJacks’ own Chef Gunter Kilian.
The four chefs competed for the top honor of Casino Chef of the South in a 45-minute live chef showdown creating their best entrée with Four Roses Bourbon and fresh Gulf Coast seafood. “The DiamondJacks family is very proud of our own Chef Gunter. He represented us very well and we are so happy he’s a part of our family,” expressed Domenic Riccardelli, Executive Vice-President & General Manager.

(Bossier City, LA)- July 15, 2011- DiamondJacks’ own executive chef, Gunter Kilian, placed in the top four casino chefs out of 15 in Southern Gaming Magazine’s online recipe contest for the 2011 Casino Cook-Off presented by Four Roses Bourbon.


DiamondJacks Chef Gunter KilianIn the mood for good food, great cooking and a fun-filled time, Southern Gaming magazine created an online recipe contest showcasing the food creations of 15 of the Gulf Coast’s premier casino chefs. Chef Gunter along with three other top chefs, determined by ballots submitted, have been invited to compete live, “iron-chef style,” at the Grand Champion Cook Off Event presented by the Four Roses Bourbon on Saturday, September 24, 2011. This culinary event has a 28-year history serving as the largest casino culinary competition of the South and is the prime event of the 29th Annual Chefs of the Coast Festival weekend at the Gulf Coast Convention Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.

The top four chefs will compete in a 45-minute timed session to create their best entrée including Four Roses Bourbon and “Fresh Gulf Coast Seafood” in front of a panel of judges and live audience. Each chef and entry will be judged on taste, flavor, medley, appearance, cleanliness and professionalism. The top winning chef will be awarded $1,000, a trophy, other great prizes, and the title, Casino Culinary King of the South.
